Salary hike calculator: turn an appraisal percentage into real amounts
Calculate the monthly increase and revised annual estimate, then check which salary component the appraisal percentage actually uses.

Calculate the increase before the revised salary
Multiply the current monthly salary by the hike percentage and divide by 100. A salary of ₹60,000 with a 12% hike increases by ₹7,200 per month.
Add the increase to the current amount to estimate the revised monthly salary. In this example, that produces ₹67,200 per month and a simple 12-month estimate of ₹8,06,400.
Check whether the percentage applies to gross, fixed, or basic pay
A headline hike can mean different things. One employer may apply it to fixed pay, another to total cost to company, and another may change selected salary components rather than applying one percentage to everything.
Use the same salary basis named in the appraisal communication. Applying a gross-pay percentage to take-home salary can create an unrealistic expectation because deductions and benefits are structured separately.
Use the effective date for the current year's estimate
Multiplying the revised monthly figure by 12 shows a full-year run rate. It does not mean the employee will receive the revised amount for all 12 months when the hike takes effect during the year.
For a current-year estimate, count the months at the old salary and the months at the revised salary separately. Add variable pay only when its amount and conditions are known.
Compare take-home pay only after reviewing deductions
Taxes, retirement contributions, insurance, allowances, and benefits can change alongside the salary revision. The new take-home amount may therefore rise by a different percentage from the gross figure.
