Understand your GST result
A GST calculator estimates the tax amount and total price from the amount and rate you enter. It does not determine the correct rate, tax component, registration status, or legal treatment for a transaction.
Results are for general information. Review the site disclaimer before using a result for an important decision.
Tax added and tax included are different
When GST is added to a taxable value, calculate the tax by multiplying the base amount by the entered rate. Add that result to the base amount to find the total price.
When GST is already included in a total price, divide the total by one plus the rate expressed as a decimal to find the taxable value. The difference is the GST portion.
Enter the rate from a reliable source
The calculator applies the rate you choose; it does not decide which rate applies to a product or service. Rates, exemptions, classifications, and place-of-supply treatment can affect a real invoice.
Check the invoice, the supplier, or the appropriate official GST resource before relying on a rate for a purchase, sale, filing, or tax decision.
Use the result as an estimate
This tool shows a simple single-rate calculation. It does not account for cess, discounts, credit notes, reverse charge, input tax credit, or other transaction-specific conditions.
For records or compliance, use the actual invoice and seek qualified tax advice when the amount or treatment is important.
