Guide

Understand your Discount result

A discount calculator shows the amount saved and the final sale price after a percentage reduction. It is a quick way to compare offers without estimating in your head.

Results are for general information. Review the site disclaimer before using a result for an important decision.

Calculate the saving first

To find a discount, multiply the original price by the discount percentage. A 25% discount on Rs. 2,000 saves Rs. 500.

Subtract the saving from the original price to get the sale price. In this example, the final price is Rs. 1,500 before any delivery charge or tax that may apply.

Two discounts do not simply add up

A 20% discount followed by another 10% discount is not the same as 30% off the original price. The second discount is applied to the already reduced price.

For a Rs. 1,000 item, 20% off leaves Rs. 800. A further 10% off saves Rs. 80, giving a final price of Rs. 720 and a total reduction of 28%.

Compare the final amount you will pay

A headline percentage is useful, but the final price is usually the better comparison when choosing between offers. Check delivery, taxes, required add-ons, and return conditions too.

Use the calculator for a quick estimate, then review the price shown at checkout before completing a purchase.

FAQs

How do I calculate 30% off a price?

Find 30% of the original price, then subtract that amount. For Rs. 1,000, the saving is Rs. 300 and the sale price is Rs. 700.

Does this include tax or delivery charges?

No. This calculator only applies the percentage discount to the price you enter. Add other charges shown by the seller separately.

Can the discount be more than 100%?

No. A normal price discount cannot reduce a price below zero, so this calculator accepts values from 0% to 100%.
